()^_^ I tried my hand at driving years ago. I'm too scared to get behind the wheel, I don't trust myself with that much power, and I'm too easily distracted.

Driving definitely takes some getting used to...

My first time behind the wheel I came in to the driveway a bit too hot, missed the turn at our roundabout and ran over a bush. I hardly think you can do worse than that, and it does start to feel very natural quite quickly. But, I can also understand not bothering with it.

Incidentally, some lens cleaner solutions are about the right composition for cleaning the contacts, and the microfiber cleaning cloths that come with them are just about perfect to dry them off without damaging them. Well, at least the ones I can get at my drug store are quite good. Cleaning a SNES out is a major pain, but a regular NES is just plain impossible. Given that your functionality seems split between the games themselves, I'd wager the system itself is in relatively good condition, which would make sense considering that the cartridges fail first almost systematically.

Yeah. At the store I bought it from, the clerk told me as much; he'd played a game or two on it out of boredom not long before and decided that the system worked to his satisfaction.

Cleaning the original NES is what I have a cleaner cartridge for. It handles it perfectly. Its not miserable when you have the tool for the job.

Oddly, I think I did see one of those cleaner carts at the game store. Hmm...

Hmm based on what you describe, are you sure you have an actual snes and not a knock off, not that that would be bad, truth be told Nintendo turns a blind eye these days to Nes and Snes hard ware emulators, like the Retro Duo which plays NES and SNES games and can be purchased new for $50...

Yes, it's an actual Super NES. And no, it's not fake; I checked.

The usual array of problems over there, huh?

I've been focusing on Super Mario World recently. I want to see how close to 100% completion I can get.

I have the Mario Mania guide book and even using it I still can't seem to manage 100%. Partly because of it requiring going through all the different ways in and through Bowsers castle.

2 ways in, 5 paths through, and still only 1 final battle. Not to mention doing everything a second time with harder enemies the second time around. Or the fact that if you use the Star Road it changes things in the map too so technically doing that before beating everything before Bowsers castle can also stop you from getting through things the way it is first time.

...I'm pretty sure I got 100% once, but it doesn't really count cause I was using a game Geanie. Without cheating, I don't think I've ever properly gotten to Bouser castle. I've got to it via the Star road, but not through the long way.

I believe I hit 100%, without cheating. No idea if it's still on my cart, though. I should pull out the SNES and check, sometime.
