Most of us probably have seen this picture at one time or another. If you haven't I suggest you download it (4 megs in size!), and start searching. How many anime's can you find? Supposedly this picture contains almost _all_ anime characters up to the mid 90s.
Since ImageShack allows up to 1.5 megs, and PhotoBucket allows up to 800x600 pixels, this picture was dropped to some other image hoster. I have no clue if it works the way they advertise. It's not resized, so to prevent insane page-loading times, I'm just including a link.

Yeah it is... Comes highly recommended. Everyone's suddenly affianced with Totoro, with aliens running around, Galaxy Police trying to arrest everyone, and spacebunnies.

Why does that concept creep me out so much?

Drawn, inked, and colored by hand by Usagichan Company's own Lionel Lum, the AX96 Poster is a compilation of over *2500* popular anime characters and mecha from Atom Boy, Gatchaman, and Yamato to Macross Plus, Silent Mobius, and Tenchi Muyou all "super-deformed" for the sake of popular anime humor. It encompasses over *240* titles varying from anime, manga, and anime-related games, sharp and detailed enough to impress even the Guests of Honor (and it did!)!

Seems the Anime Expo 96 Staff and Crew is also on that picture.
I did manage to spot Laputa Castle in the Sky (at the top center slightly left of the Robotech mecha dominating the center), Violinist of Hameln (right next to the green lizard at the top row), Grave of the Fireflies (second row from above from the right hand side (under Astroboy), and Pompoko (right next to Akira on the left hand side). My Dear Marie is on there aswell... Righthand side first characters seen on the row that has the cat-bus depicted (and that bus also rings a bell, I just can't place it).
Got a list here that has 'm all listed (supposedly cause Iria isn't listed on that one for instance), but I'm sticking to the ones I can confirm. And that list contains a heap of anime's I have not seen.
The list ends with the following:

over 1000 black makurokurosukes, over 250 white totoros, and many more characters to count.

So we'll just forgo that tidbit. No need to point those out

I do love that Ryoga's lost way off down near the bottom right when all the rest of the Ranma regulars are in their own highlighted group seemingly miles away on the left ^^

Hm.. I think I need to adjust my screen resolution to see everything at once, I have to zoom in so close to make anything out that it takes forever to look at the picture. I recognize a lot of characters from anime I have seen, but forgot the name of. Like that old man in the robotic bed. I watched that movie all the way through and still didn't really get what the point of it was.

Roujin Z? Yeah, it was kinda odd.
There are a number of characters there that I've seen before and couldn't remember the anime and a few that I'm not quite sure of because the SD look doesn't help.
BTW: I just spotted Riding Bean, Dragon Half, and Armitage III in that pic as well
