Temple of Ranma's Sailor Senshi Seifuku

Does FF.net allow stuff like ¹ to be used in stories? I want to use them alongside certain Japanese words so people know to look for information at the bottom of the chapter. I suppose I could use an asterisk if I really have to, but they look too obtrusive to me.

When I start with the file, the ¹ turns into something that looks like a pi mounted on top of an M when it's uploaded. (Or a II with the bottom part shaped like an M.) That didn't change when I saved it. The editor didn't accept unicode, either. But when I pasted ¹ in and saved it, it stayed. It'd be nice if that were the end of it, but each time I save the underlines disappear, even when I used the editor to make the underlines. It's not absolutely vital that I have an underline underneath "chapter" and the like, but come on.

What did you use to create the document?

But, since this IS most likely for footnotes, I'd just stick to a simpler method (such as using "(4)"). I wouldn't necessarily like having to do it that way, but fanfiction.net DOES have a tendency to suddenly start disallowing special characters/arrangements at odd moments, and I know you'd hate to look at the posted chapters after two to three months and discover the changes have horribly broken them.

I think they really, really want everyone to import OpenOffice drafts, rather than use their own editor, though. Or, at least I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I already have to go through that just to get scene breaks that I don't hate... and which'll probably break at any time.

The first three superscript numbers are part of Latin-1: ¹ (Alt-0185) ² (Alt-0178) and ³ (Alt-0179). The Alt-codes are Windows keyboard codes. For all I know (nada), they may be direct entry on a Mac.

Somewhat. You can direct-enter a number of symbols by holding a combination of the Option, Command, Shift, etc. keys while tapping letters/etc. on the keyboard. I'm not sure how many superscript numbers are supported using that method, or which keys they use, though - my Mac is down, at the moment.

Not sure about Linux - for all I know, the different window and file managers may handle it differently. I don't think the distro I'm currently using has any such way to easily enter text/symbols/characters like that. -_-

Well, I can directly enter the symbols now, on my Mac, and I live in the US.

Darn it, haven't thought about the key-front symbols on a Commodore system in years. Still have to get around to pulling out my C64 and seeing if it'll hook up to my HDTV and work without any issues (and whether or not any of my floppy disks still work... )
