But this film is not TV-friendly (unlike Ranma or SM, for example, which could be downsampled to 320x240 without losing any details), it's full of small detalls that get lost in the low resolution. Character's eyes, for example. 640x480 is the minimum I shall not cross.

I won't have have time to finish the translation until this Saturday, though.

Now I'm encoding the video (a rare case when my CPU doesn't have enough horse powers). It takes days, literally.

There will be three versions:
- 1600kbps, 640x480, approx. 600 megs
- 800kbps, 640x480, approx. 300 megs
- 400kbps, 400x300, approx. 150 megs.

Talk about slow.
A year and a half to finish a simple fansub for a 50 min. movie.

Of course, I'd appreciate C&C on my translation.
This is a family movie, kids could see it, so the subs quality must be superb. While my English is not.

The sub is external, a separate *.SRT file. AFAIK, most players understand it. It is (or was) the most popular format in this part of the world. Enough to say my Russian Ranma fansubs are all in SRT.
