Because I'm doing it in the name of Truk. The Spork was his most sacred and favored weapon! Now be a good little girl and do whatever is you little girls do, like eating candy, playing dollys, being the cause of world war 3 or annoying other little boys.
(Resumes the spork onslaught on Truk, which isn't working very well considering the sporks are plastic.)

Might be that the statue itself is made out of sporks? Or that it looks like a tribute from worshippers to the Spork God. Either way its kind of weird.
