Phone capabilities of the Amazon village

I remember that, in one of the threads around here, someone mentioned that the Amazon village had some degree of phone service.

I'm hitting a point in my writing where that will become a minor plot point--one way or the other--but I just can't remember anywhere in the manga that addresses it. (I know the Guide has a phone, but where I'm coming up blank is the Amazons themselves.) Does anyone know of a point where their phones--or lack thereof--are described or implied in any way?

I don't think it is mentioned we see very little of the amazons outside of Nerima and they definitely did. Considering that the guide had a telephone which was used multiple times I'd say it is a fair bet that the Amazons have phones as well (called during Pantyhose's arc and in last volume, I think more times than that as well).

True, thank you. I was just wondering if there was a little throwaway bit somewhere that I'd forgotten, where one of the Amazons phones home or something. I thought that someone had referred to something about it, although I could just be misremembering.

At the beginning and end of the Pink and Link arc, Shampoo had a copy of her village's newspaper. So they not only have printing presses, but a way to send them to Japan as well.
