Questions regarding the Ranma magical music box

Postby Metroidvania » Mon Feb 12, 2007 1:44 pm

As the topic states, when, in the Ranma anime, Ling-ling and lung-lung/Lin-lin and Ran-Ran arrive with their magical music box, I have two questions.
One, what style is it in? Ancient victorian record player, something totally different?
Two, what type of music does it play? I know Ranma's dancing to it to try and avoid the flames that the twin send out to try and defeat him, but I can't remember the genre used.

Contemporary cassette player. With normal cassettes. Not pocket one (like Walkman) but portable.
Ranma Nibun No Ichi: Nettohen was shown from 20.10.1989 till 25.09.1992 so if you are moving Ranma in time then cassete player should be replaced with Vinyl, CD or flash-player.

It's some song from standard Ranma collection, of course - I don't really remember which one. May be eve Yapapa.
Actually the whole episode looks like joke and it's too expensive to license separate song just for one episode...

To clarify the previous answer, Ling-Ling and Lung-Lung used a boom-box style portable stereo and played a cassette tape. And yes, they were playing the theme song for that season of the series.

Right. Thanks for the help, khim and Larry. The boom box will work out just fine.
Now I just need to go find and listen to the theme song for that season.
