I was just wondering if people could give me any advice, suggestions or similar information on how to use Mousse for comedy in one of my fanfics. I know that Mousse is a legitimate threat, and he will be treated as such, but in the canons (I'm working from the anime canon) he's also often a comedic character (as is just everyone).
These are just some points I felt I should point out, as my fanfic is very much an AU, diverging at the point where Shampoo first came into Nerima:
*Ranma/Akane is not the destined pair- Ranma/Shampoo is.
*This means that Mousse is not a resident of the Nekohanten and is, in fact, staying at Ukyo's restaurant.
*Mousse & Ukyo are also "partners" in much the way Ukyo & Ryoga are in canon; they're not interested in each other (at least, not yet- I've been contemplating pairing the two, but that's a different topic), but they are the only ones with a valid reason to work together (she wants Ranma, he wants Shampoo).
*Mousse doesn't have his traditional duck cursed form- in this fanfic, he went to Jusenkyo deliberately trying to curse himself, aiming to mix together "Drowned Man" and "Drowned Cat" water to create a form that he believed would render him unbeatable by Ranma.
*Of course, he screwed things up and now turns into a kitsunemimi (fox kemonomimi).
*In cursed form, his sense of smell & hearing heighten enough they can actually compensate, to some degree, for his poor eyesight.
*However, he can't stand intense smells or high-pitched noises- a dog whistle instinctively makes him tense in pain.
*His cursed form is shorter than his real form, and the change is quite markable (his cursed form is shorter than Ranma's girl-form to the same degree Mousse's normal form is taller than Ranma's real form). This makes him look a lot more immature and lowers his strength, though he gains no physical bonuses.
*Azusa believes Mousse to be a kitsune because of this form and is fascinated with him- he ended up being carted to her home at the end of his reintroductory chapter and since then has been hiding from her, while she desperately wants "Jean-Paul" to come home. (This is not such an exaggeration of Azusa's character; remember, she decided that Kuno was a Tanuki in her second appearance.)
