And the big reveal! I'd been suspecting something like this since I found out the magical world is a sub-plane magical space based on Mars.
The question I have now is why they can't re-charge the magical world's power-source so that it stays around...
I have to say, I really like Mahou Sensei Negima! It's a great series. The world is surprisingly coherent, much more than the likes of the Ranmaverse, Harry Potterverse or Sailor Moonverse, to the point that I half-wish they'd base some fanfiction re-writes of those series based off of the ki and magick systems in Mahou Sensei Negima! Most of the fan-fiction I read is Naruto, Harry Potter, Ranma, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, of which, only Harry Potter and Ranma I could see being better with the MSNegima systems. Naruto would need a heavier plot re-write to translate over, and is getting pretty ridiculous at this point, and I have a hard time seeing it translate properly over, but it is actually relatively coherent on it's own, if over the top. BtVS is has too different of levels going on and is a bit too multiplanar for MSNegima systems to translate well with it, especially with it's darker origins and wider power gaps. I think HP and Ranma would benefit a lot from Negima-like systems, as would a re-written Sailor Moonverse which is a bit more shounen style and a bit less cosmic.
I also like Akamatsu's unique blend of ecchi and action, and his ability to handle so well such a huge cast of lovable characters, and develop so many great and memorable ones, like Rakan, Evangeline, Asuna, Setsuna, Konoka, and Chao Lingshen.
