That's probably just as well, Wildcat. From what you've told me about your tastes in anime and general dislikes, I don't think you'd care much for the transformation sequences in Nanoha Classic; they're somewhat off-putting until you get used to them. All you Nanoha veterans out there can probably vouch for this as well.

That's an understatement And while StrikerS's tranformation scenes are something I can watch without discomfort, they actually make the scenes from the other two seasons even more uncomfortable to watch

Perhaps not so easy as you think.

In this case, it would be somewhat problematic for Vivio to suddenly start attending a school on Earth. Vivio's not likely to leave Mid-Childa unless Fate and Nanoha are both gone on a long-term assignment. Assuming that said assignment (let's assume the TSAB has taken an interest in Pharaoh 90's activities) takes them to Earth (which makes a certain amount of sense, since Nanoha knows the territory pretty well), Vivio would probably be attending a school in Uminari City, not in Tokyo.

Still, you have a point; the presence of the multiverse in Nanoha makes crossovers easy to pull off. Good crossovers, on the other hand, now that's a different story entirely.

We my idea was along the lines that Vivio is having problems in Mid-Childa schools because someone found out she is what she is, or for some reason people can just sense something different about her. Also i think that one day Nanoha and Fate might finish their terms of duty, maybe Nanoha might open up an expansion shop somewhere.

Other ideas, Pluto wondering where this Girl came from, she has no past. Vivio and Hotaru's location being attacked by a monster of some type, and Vivio emulating Nanoha-mama, and atomizing the beast, before Hotaru can fully duck away to henshin...

Few other random ideas but it is sleep time.

Mmm. Nanoha's term of service might expire, but she's not about to just up and quit the magical girl business; she loves what she does, and even if she does give up teaching (something else she loves) I imagine she'd just go freelance like a traditional magical girl instead of completely retiring. Fate would probably be right behind her, too.

And I shouldn't have to tell you that a freelance Nanoha running around on Earth is Very Bad News for pretty much everything the Sailor Senshi deal with, unless you're dealing with the manga canon... in which case it's Nanoha who's lacking in the firepower department.

Just a quick idea I had over the day.

Inner senshi are tracking a youma, one that's trying to escape and travels through several districts. Eventually it makes it's way into a house, which it doesn't leave. The senshi surround the house. When the door opens to show a figure emerging they start spouting the usual love and justice speech. The figure dumps a dustpan of ashes, then sends a red orb of energy at each of the senshi. Taken by surprise they lose the literal high ground. The only thing they can determine about the figure before it dissappears is that it appears to be a child with a toy hammer who yells "SHUT UP! SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!" before slamming the door behind them.

And thus the senchi set Pluto to find out about Yagami Hayate, age 9.

Alternately: "I am Chrono Harlaown. Sailor Pluto, you are under arrest for attacking TSAB personel and planned genocide on a planetary level. Surrender or I'll sick Takamachi on you."

Yeah, for some reason, 'Dark Crystal Tokyo' with 'Manipulative as hell Pluto' has become something that I can't stand.

Well, one thing that would affect a SM/MGLN xover is the fact that there is definitely no such thing as a disguise field in Nanoha. The Wolkenritter recognize Fate and Nanoha in civilian costume from a photograph instantly, and Fate and Nanoha recognize them in civilian costume instantly when they meet in the hospital. The fact that nobody in Nanoha is in the habit of using an alias also makes things trivial.

The only reason Nanoha was able to keep her secret for two seasons is because thanks to Chrono's time/space barrier thing, only five civilians ever end up in a position to see Nanoha in action, and three of them spend the entire incident unconscious. And in season 3, Nanoha's status as a magical girl is common knowledge, as she's a magical girl in government employ on a world where magic is common knowledge.

BTW, what happens if Fate's talking puppy decides to chase some talking cats?

In As I recall Shamal at one point thinking (or saying to herself) that she should have done something, I can't recall the exact wording right now, that sounded like it would have disguised their identities. So one possibility would be that while "Disguise Field" type spells did exist, they were not a "default" part of the transformations since they were used to working in ways where it wouldn't be needed.
Also, the Time/Space Barrier wasn't Chrono's. Yuuno was the first to use it, Vita also used one, and the one employed when Nanoha and Fate first used the Cartridge system was maintained by multiple bureu members.

Illusion magic certainly exists in the Nanohaverse, so disguise magic shouldn't be too hard to pull off if the girls need to keep their identities a secret. Not that it really matters, since most of the "civilians" in the series are quite capable of defending themselves, Suzuka and Arisa aside, and nothing in the anime canon could pose a serious threat to the Mages in a straight-up fight.

In some ways I wonder if it might be better to use Nanoha-verse has as a "setting alterationg" IOW getting the Nanoha type stuff so it's fuctioning throughout the background (past and present) and then focus on the characters from the non-Nanoha series as they "discover" the nanoha elements, or use one series for "Setting+side characters" Nanoha for "Background mechanics" and a third series for "Main characters"

Nah, as soon as Nanoha hears the words "love and justice" she'll power down and ask for an explanation. Remember, Nanoha's battle philosophy is "ask questions first, blow 'em up later."

But yeah, the SM villains are completely screwed if Nanoha shows up. Heck, they're screwed if the forwards come around for whatever reason. Voltair could step on Galaxia and not even notice her.
