Nanoha and Disgaea

This could be an interesting idea. I can see Nanoha working in Disgaea, if only because of this:



Other ways you could get around the power level difference might be to have Nanoha's level interpreted differently by mistake, like if the enemy was near death or distracted then vaporised, or if it was Vyers and he wasn't vaporised but retreated as usual, causing Laharl to assume it damaged Vyers a lot more than it did. Even just having them realise she's a strong human (opposed to another young looking demon or angel) and will likely grow stronger might cause them to want her. Flonne or Etna bugging Laharl might do it too, like in the zombie pet recovery.

I think the dragon in the throne room is something on the order of level 3000 or so.

Currently my PS2 in repair so I can't check it... But how I remeber no one of them tops even a 1000+ level. Mmmmm... Maybe PS2 emulator?

Actually none of the Disgaea one vessals is over one thousand or close to it. I'm pretty sure that the highest level minnion is around 300-500. That still pretty badass but Laharl when you see him in Disgaea two is 1,200. Etna, who is pretty much the second strongest person story wise in Laharls netherworld is level 1,020 or something. (That's 'in game' aka not summoning from the dark assembly).

Really Nanoha would be a above average but nothing special for a Netherworld mage. A Overlord, or even a demon lord who verges on Overlord Status (such as Etna) are just insanely powerful.

Consindering that on begining of Disgaea Laharl got only one+X vassals (Etna+Prinny Squad), I'm pretty sure that he instantly go for Nanoha recruitment.

Oh god, incoming cracked up idea: After taking RH through a few levels in Item World, the Specialists Nanoha recruits start talking to her through RH's voice-comm system, leading Nanoha to briefly believe that RH is developing a split personality.

Alright, sorry for the double post but I just thought of something that could really throw off the long-term prospects for this fic, as well as a possible solution that could make it really awesome in the long run.

Let's say Nanoha goes through this whole scenario and returns to Earth as a full-blown demon sorceress, or at the very least is swinging around a powered-up Raising Heart from all those trips into Item World. Then the Wolkenritter show up and Nanoha completely blows them away, even with help from the Lieze twins... well, now what? The Wolks are taken into custody by the TSAB, and either they tell the bureau who their master is (fat chance of that happening), or they stay silent and Hayate is killed off by the book.

Now it's conceivable that the Wolks could be filled in on the book's history of consuming its' owners and they could surrender Hayate's identity to try to save her life, but the bureau has no way to know that there is a way to override the book and exorcise the viral defense program.

Cue Nanoha suggesting they take the book to Laharl's castle and go on an epic quest through all 100 levels of the book's Item World to beat the snot out of whatever is binding Hayate to the book. As the Wolks and the Aces battle their way through level after level, they come across lost and hidden data files containing secrets relating to the Wolkenritter; their pasts and histories, masters they served previously, who they were before they were absorbed by the book, and who exactly caused the book to become corrupted in the first place.

Comartemis, both of those ideas are fracking BRILLIANT! The idea of Nanoha freaking out over RH's "new" personality is deeply amusing, and a full 100 level item world dive into the book of darkness is down right epic.

And I find myself laughing at the image of Fate, Chrono and the rest of the TSAB group from A's trying to wrap their heads around Nanoha having minons, especially the prinnes...

The book is one of the big reasons messing with A's is so dangerous and easy to turn into a Bad End for Hayate and the Wolks; if the scales are tipped in favor of Nanoha and Fate, then the Wolks lose, the bureau arrests them and Hayate, and either Graham has Hayate sealed by Durandal to prevent the book from killing her and migrating to another host, or the book kills Hayate and migrates onwards anyways; the bureau, as I said, has no way of knowing that there's a way to save Hayate. Graham wouldn't resort to such drastic measures if he had any hope of saving Hayate, or at least I'd like to think so. But tip the scales towards the Wolkenritter and the Aces are going to get beaten down too hard to be able to stop Reinforce when the Book goes nuts, nor will they be able to stop the Lieze twins from sealing Hayate/Reinforce with Durandal.

But toss Item World into the mix and suddenly you've got yourself a whole new ball game. The quest for the Viral Defense program stretches across all one hundred levels, and the book is unlike any item in Disgaea; you can do all kinds of things with the book's item world and chalk it up to the book being a lost logia, like having certain levels take place in the middle of battles the book was once a part of, or face the shades of previous owners as the Item Kings, and the Defense Program itself playing the role of the Item God. Reinforce could make an appearance at some point, though what exactly she'd be doing in the context of this world is anyone's guess. And the best part of all is that it's an epic quest to save Hayate's life... or die trying. Just think of all the drama potential!

Another thing that can provide temporary equilizing is the way As kicked things off. With Nanoha having trained in a Netherworld, the Wokkenritter could note her as strong enough that they should attack her in a group. So she could still get surprised and overpowered in the first battle, and then take longer to recover after it since she would have a greater level of difference between her weakest and strongest states. And the Wokkenriter would get a larger amount of pages from her, giving them a boost.
