The Dangers of Boredom A Ranma/Tenchi/SM Crossover

Postby deathgeonous » Sun Jul 12, 2009 12:38 am

Ok, so my life has been shitty lately, and so I've not had the, um, spark of creativity to do any writing lately. Well, I've gotten a little of that spark back, and I'm now working on some of my poor neglected fics. But I'm finding it hard to just jump back onto them, and so I came back to this idea I've had for a while. I got it from a poll on this board about, three years ago was it? It was a poll about 'What female from another series would be best to team up with Ranma to take on the Senshi. And Washu was suggested. Even after all this time I've remembered that and I have the first scene plus a very rough and sketchy out line of the first few chapters, and I was wondering what people thought of it. Sure it might be a little cliched here and there, but, well, cliches can work if you do them right. Ah well, here's what I have. Oh, and if anybody knows just who suggested this stuff in the first place, I'd appreciate knowing.

A moment with a very scared universal consciousness

The universe it’s self was afraid. Very, very afraid. Why was it so afraid you may ask? Well, Washu was bored. The last time the diminutive and young looking scientist slash Sealed-Goddess (Not that she knew about that last part) was bored, intelligent mortal life had been created. The universe did NOT want to see what would happen this time around.

Why was Washu so bored, you may ask? Well, that had a very simple answer. About a month ago she had lost her favorite plaything, whom was also known as Tenchi Masaki. He had finally, somehow, managed to grow a spine and he had married both Ayeka and her daughter Ryoko, and he was now living on Jurai with them while preparing to take over as the Emperor of Jurai by studying under Azusa.

Sasami had gone home to be with her sister, and Mihoshi and Kiyone both had left with the group to continue to guard them. Yosho had also been, err, persuaded, by both Funaho and Misaki to join them on Jurai, and Nobuyuki had moved into an apartment in Tokyo to be closer to his job. Only Washu had stayed behind for reasons that none of the others could fathom.

The sad truth of the matter was, she had just felt uncomfortable by the new dynamics of the situation. Every time she saw Tenchi and Ryoko together, she was reminded of her own failed marriage, and thus she couldn’t deal with things as they were now. So she was alone, in the old house, while she was surrounded by the memories of both the near and the distant past, and she was currently bored out of her very skull.

The universe had the right idea in this case. And that was to be afraid. And to be very, very afraid at that.

So the universe thought to its self ‘What can I do to help occupy Washu’s time? Ah yes! She just loves her Guinea Pigs now doesn’t she? So let’s get her a new one!’ It thought. Thus the universe then searched for a new subject for Washu that would catch her interest on the level that Tenchi did. No, wait! It should exceed the level Tenchi did. No need for her to tire of it too soon now is there? The universe had thought to its self.

So it then searched for a suitable, candidate. One that would NOT let Washu get too bored with it too quickly, and then it found a very interesting subject. One that it thought would keep Washu interested in it, and thus not so bored she’d unmake reality it’s self again anytime soon.

The universe had NO idea of the headache that it had set up for it’s self, for it had chosen one Ranma Saotome as Washu’s new plaything.

Looking back on this moment, the universe would later think maybe it would have been better to just let Washu unmake reality yet again. It’s not like she didn’t always put it back together just the way it was afterwards when she did so, right?

In the air above the Masaki shrine: early one afternoon

Ranma was pissed. He had been out in the wilds on a simple training trip, while hoping to just get away from all the nutcases back in Nerima so he didn’t kill them after they had ruined his wedding. Not that he WANTED to marry that stupid tomboy, No Siree Bob, but come on, he should of just been able to say to the priest, ‘No.’ And then that would have been the end of that. But NOOOO!!! All of his, friends, just had to attack him, using real weapons and live explosives on him. And it was, of course, entirely his fault.

His life really sucked at times in his opinion. And those times were almost all of the time.

Thus he had decided afterwards to take a training trip to clear his head and so he didn’t murder half the Neriman ward.

He hadn’t been gone one single day before his so called friends had found him and attacked him for his trying to get a little peace and quiet.

He had taken down all his attackers, and he just had managed to, subdue, Ryoga, when Akane came latterly, to him, out of nowhere and suddenly he was airborne via Mallet Airs.

And now it looked like he was just about to land in that lake over there by that house.

In Washu’s Lab: a little while earlier.

Washu had just been puttering around her lab, while not truly doing anything, when her computer terminal had beeped in warning. A little curious, and very, very bored, she turned on her monitor and watched in some slight surprise as a young man was trudging through the mountains near the house.

“What’s he doing here?” Washu asked of herself. She then quickly scanned him and found him to be completely human, but…. “How the hell does he have that much bio-energy!?!” she shouted out with surprise.

Sitting down to do a more in-depth scan him, she then watched as he started to train. Typing quickly, she gathered more and more information on him, as she watched in some slight awe at his amount of skill. “Whoa, I bet he could give Yosho a good run for his money.” She whispered. Not that she thought the young man would actually beat the old coot, but he would definitely give him a good workout and some much needed humbling in her own humble opinion.

Then she watched in surprise as he was attacked by a guy with glasses and in a robe with bladed weaponry that appeared from what seemed to be a personal sub-space field. Then he was attacked by a loud mouthed idiot with a katana, and then another young man with an umbrella of all things.

Those attackers were then quickly followed a bunch of screaming girls and two old men who were obviously yelling something at him. “I have got to give my spy-bots audio receiving capabilities.” Washu muttered as she watched the free for all.

Washu raised an eyebrow in surprise as the young man she had been watching and one of the other young men started to exchange bio-energy blasts. And when the young man she had been observing had finally beaten all of his attacker, one of the girls ran up to him, screamed something, and sent him flying towards the house by hitting him with a mallet of all things made out of bio-energy. She quickly switched to her outside cameras and saw him land in the lake. Her surprise was complete however when instead of a handsome and well built dark haired young man, what emerged from the lake was a healthily built petite red headed young woman.

Washu just softly whispered with a tone that was as close to awe that has ever been evident in her voice “New Guinea Pig.” And then she had rushed outside to meet him, her, ah whatever.

Really nice start. Ranma and Washu vs the Senshi promises to be interesting. But why would they attack the senshi?
And that's the bottom line 'cause Dumbledork said so.

I don't really see them ATTACKING the Senshi as I do see them INTERFERING with the Senshi. They both will be going after the Youma, so... Rivals at best here, and at worst, well,... misinformation is a bad, bad thing don't ya know. I don't have this all planed out, it's rough at the moment at best, but it does seem interesting to me at the least.

I see. Okay, that's interesting. Maybe an unofficial contest between Ranma and Haruka as to who gets most kills. I'm sure they won't get along at all.

But when this will be in the SM continuity?
And that's the bottom line 'cause Dumbledork said so.

(Insert Ranma/Washu bonding here.)

Bonding as in friendship, or more. It seems too quick for it to be more by that point.

Oh... one thing that must occur... a scene with Washu seeing Mercury with computer attempting to scan her and Ranma, and Washu taking action against such... maybe virus, or a full hack and download. giving Ranma/Washu info on SM's enemies, and SM's own plans.

Pluto's views and attitudes toward Washu?

Washu's views of ChibiUsa being time displaced, if she is present?

Not only when in timeline is this supposed to occur, but what type of future are the Senshi going for?

I think Washuu would appreciate Mercury - and her computer - too much to do something destructive. Silly, annoying, useful - those are better. I could see her adding a test for sweet-tooth among all the other statistics the Mercury computer can compile on friends and enemies. Listing the Three Measurements. Sexual orientation or potential for perversion? That could be both interesting and embarrassing. And think how much confusion could come from using it on Ranma! (It'd prove useful for Zoicite, or later on, Fish Eye...)

That would depend.

Are the Senshi and Ranma/Washu friends? Or rivals? Or enemies?

Personally, I'd rather the latter.

But no matter the relationship, I cannot see Washu letting someone like Amy have free reign to scan Ranma and Her. And I cannot picture Washu passing any chance to get not only clear intellegence on their enemies and the war overall, but to pull one over on somone and show that she is the best.

So - every time Ami turns on her computer, she gets Sailor Mooned?

Oh, definitely as friends PCHeintz72. This probably won't be worked on much any time soon though. Too much going on in my life and too many fic in progress for that. Oh well, I'll try to work on this some though.

Looks good, I say go with it. The story should be pretty entertaining.

Researching the insanity that is Ranma and his life would definitely be something up Washu's alley. For Ranma the insane scientific genius is a different sort of weirdness but not that far out. I've seen a couple of stories that use a similar idea as part of it, but not many that actually use it as the main plot device.

Actually, I think now that my time may be freeing up. My life still is in the suckage, but I now have a lot more free time. So hopefully that means more writing time. I now only want to focus one, two or at the most three stories, any more and it's hurt my story telling, and if I can make this work, this will be one of them. The only one I'm sure of my writing though is A Dark Moon Rising, although I hope that this will one be the other two. It just depends if I can make this work. I'll try to after finishing revising A Dark Moon Rising and then writing a new chapter on it. Thanks for the encouragement, bye for now

You mean LOST his spine, because in canon he scored ALL of them, and had at least one child with Washuu? And no, OVA and GXP are not a full canon.
