I would do so...
But not only would that spoil my image as an Evil Overlord, it's just so... Unoriginal
So unless you have some crafty, cunning idea of doing so, that may be out.
Besides, I don't know where to post said thread X_x

Hm... Well, assuming you're able to get over all the other psychiatric hangups (I guess you'll do for a local citizen after all), I'd suggest the section near the bottom titled 'Introductions' as a starting point.

I must say Wolf, I am seriously impressed. Not just with your writing style and so forth, but the fact that you portray Usagi in at least a somewhat positive light despite your intense dislike of her. The story itself is really good too.

I have a few suggestions I would like to make, however; being a Senshi nut, I would love to see the girls--at least one or two of them--ascend to Nanoha power levels sometime during the course of the series, and I've got a few ways to manage this. I haven't seen much of Nanoha (6 episodes) so most of this will probably go against canon, but...

1) The Silence Glaive is actually some form of device that Saturn hasn't learned to release yet. I think this would work very well, as the Glaive's AI would be able to help Saturn utilize her powers without accidently vaporizing the planet. :P

2) Mercury has a device of her own, one she was experimenting with when the Silver Millenium fell. It's stashed away in a subspace pocket Mercury hasn't accessed before.

Mercury's weapon I was actually going to use in a fic of my own (assuming I ever get around to finishing it... or even getting started, really). You can use this if you want, or modify it as you wish, just make sure you give me some credit for it, please.

Frostbyte
The seed for this is the gem in Mercury's tiara. When activated, Merc's gloves become covered in an intricate pattern of runes and change shape to become more like cloth gauntlets that reach to her elbows. When using a specific mode, the gloves become the base for an armor upgrade that accompanies the weapon in question. The gloves have four distinct modes: Melee defense, melee offense, seal, and shooter (I'm not sure if Nanoha ever shows more than that). Defense creates a force-shield around one of Merc's gloves, forming a sort of buckler. Offense forms an energy blade that erupts from the gauntlet just over the knuckles. Seal creates a smaller version of the Offense blade, but anything it hits becomes locked in a solid block of ice. Shooter was inspired by Gunslinger Moon: the armor on Mercury's gloves reassembles itself into a small chaingun locked in place under Mercury's forearm. This gun (which I call "Blitzkreig mode") draws from Mercury's well of magic to create a nigh-unlimited supply of icicle bullets.

Wow, I certainly wasn't expecting a further comment on this story. Now I feel kind of bad about how many other ones I have distracting me.

Heh, I mainly dislike her as she's handled in the series. 'Our only hope', 'future ruler of the world'...

She has strong points, and those aren't them. So what I do is focus on what her good points are.

The story itself is really good too.

Thank you.

Hm... I'll say first that I largely do have the story planned out. I will at the least do what I can to keep the Senshi respectable.

Hm... considering Saturn can zap monsters without much apparent trouble in Stars, I'm not going to be giving her these crazy control problems - she's better at wide-area attacks, but she's not liable to nuke Earth unless she intends to ;)

Not impossible, but Senshi generally just don't need devices - a device is essentially a cool-looking spellbook, that allows you to cast spells without actually memorizing how to do them. The Sailor Crystals basically do the same purpose for Senshi already, though Sailor Crystals aren't as editable as devices (on the other hand, you're not as likely to drop your soul somewhere).

Bear in mind, power levels aren't precisely in stone. Skill is a huge issue.

Saturn's the only Senshi who's literally going to be on par in power with Fate and Nanoha. But Ranma's going to be able to compete at a similar level (eventually) and he has the least innate power of anyone in the story (Mercury is magically stronger).

Some definite good ideas here. I'll keep the idea in mind if I ever need it, and be sure to credit you if it's used.

Of course, I think I should make a general comment here:

This story is not StrikerS compatible. I'm running pretty much entirely AU as of the epilogue to A's, though if it remains compatible with the developing StrikerS canon I certainly have no complaints.

I guess I need to see more of Stars; I've only seen Saturn in the Nehelenia arc, and she didn't really do much besides power up Moon and threaten Queeny.

"Crazy control problems" wasn't exactly what I meant, anyway. Saturn is good at wide-area attacks, but I've yet to see her do much else besides Silent Wall. By "helping her utilize her powers" I meant opening up more ways for her to use her powers, i.e. beam attacks, mana balls like World Shaking, etc. Not a restraint so much as a training aid.

Bear in mind, power levels aren't precisely in stone. Skill is a huge issue.

Yes, and we all know that Moon and company have skill in spades, don't they.

Thank you. My goal was to do away with this concept of Mercury as the weakest Senshi, sacrificing power and making up for it with brains. Why not have power as a result of brains? Thus the image I'm trying to give her, that of a "Technomancer" who supplements her power with an arsenal of gadgets and magically-enhanced gear. A sort of "modern ninja" if you will, with grenades of various sorts, Frostbyte, the Mercury Computer, and so on. I thought it was rather ingenious, but I imagine it's been done before.

Hm, as far as I know - while she can't keep it incredibly focused - she can nuke a street worth of monsters rather than a planet worth of monsters easily enough.

Yes, and we all know that Moon and company have skill in spades, don't they.

(Coughs)

Er... Well, I am playing them as mildly more professional than canon...

Ahem.

:P
