This is the type of summary that I like seeing. A few paragraphs that fold seamlessly into the storyline, and something that a reader WANTS to read. Especially if each chapter has a summary that is similar to the others, but different each time; such as a WIC memo in one chapter, a diary entry in an...

Even though I rarely get a chance to read fics nowadays, authors like Sunny and Trimatter are the ones who will always keep me coming back. Excellent first chapter. I think you set a good tone with the writing style, and the fact that pretty much every character recieves some development is a big pl...

This is a good first chapter. It has a good hook to draw in a reader, and the way you wrote the ending leaves several different paths for future chapters or stories. I didn't notice any glaring errors in grammar or spelling either, which is a delightfull change from the normal run-of-the-mill storie...

Why, WHY must you tease us so? Seriously, aside from the minor spelling error that was already picked up, you have a good clean start to a story here. I'd have to actually read more before I can commment on plot or anything else like that, but for a teaser this is very good. I'll have to keep my eye...

Hmmm. this is actually fairly interesting. It could lead to all sorts of good potential stories....
Heck, I may take a shot at one, if I have enough time to write.

Hello Hello. I read 'Tears' a ways back... as soon as I can find time to re-read it (this seems to be my busiest time with the army) I'd be glad to give you a review. From what I can remember of it it was a good read, worth saving in my bookmarks anyway. I wish I could say more about it, but it's be...

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) still have a mounted troop, but it's basically ceremonial only nowadays. The riders are all policemen, able to arrest you etc, but the musical ride is just a show. They don't really patrol on horseback anymore. Hmmm, my fuku... how about dark green with black...

Ah? In that case, the same applies, with a reservation. It's better to use English with special characters to denote the use of foreign language, and show in the story that it's incomprehensible to the other characters, unless you want to have an effect of keeping the readers in the dark too. Oh, I...

Well, if one tank won't defend me, I guess I'll bring in a squadron of them. :-p
I got shot in the knee? Bah, happens so frequently I just don't notice anymore. Where's my band-aid's? That should do it....
Thanks for the welcomes!

Hello from somewhere in Canada!

Greetings all. I was a member of the forumbefore the server melted, but I tend to lurk wherever I go. Must be a side effect of my training, I dunno.... Speaking of training, I am a member of the Canadian Forces, and am more then willing to answer any questions you may have about army life in general...

I agree in that I don't mind the use of other languages then that which the story is written within said story. It has to be done tastefully and properly, however. Throwing random words which you may think are "cool" into a story may seem like a good idea, but it isn't. Using those cool wo...
